ED 800
Concepts of Educational Inquiry Summer 2013 - Steven Weiland
ED 800 examines the role of inquiry in teaching and learning. This self-paced course is divided into six units which require students to look at inquiry in terms of philosophy, personal reflection, participant observation, biography, curriculum development, and technology. This course synthesized many key topics in education today and challenged my personal pedagogy and philosophy. I found the hypermedia format, which integrated text, video, web links, and audio files to be inspiring. |
ED 870
Capstone Seminar Spring 2014 - Matthew Koehler
ED 870 provides students the opportunity to review their learning in the Masters of Arts in Education program. The primary focus of the course is the creation of a web-based portfolio composed of a resume, interactive transcript, showcase of work, and several reflective essays on their accomplishments and future goals. This course has provided a platform to showcase my MAED coursework, but also provided an opportunity to publish my first website. |
TE 846
Accommodating Differences In Literacy Learners Summer 2012 - Autumn Dodge
TE 845 fulfills the State of Michigan's Reading Requirement for Teacher Certification. This course first asks participants, regardless of content, to reflect on the definition and subsequent role of literacy in their classrooms. Participants must then perform an in-depth literacy analysis of a student, implementing a strategy learned in the course, and reflecting on the result. This course was definitely out of my comfort zone, but allowed me to see the types of problems many students encounter and provided numerous strategies and accommodations for implementation in my classroom |
