GRADUATE WORK SHOWCASE- Athletic Development
Sports Leadership and Coaching is much more than blowing a whistle and holding a stopwatch. To be a leader in the field of athletics it is important to have a general understanding of a variety of fields. The strength of my work below is this diversity of information, ranging from nutrition, biomechanics, coaching philosophies, and risk management, that I was able to take away from personal experiences.

As a coach, I felt this was an area I needed to improve, and taking time to look at each phase of the block start alongside the rationale for each element was very beneficial. Once these technique fundamentals were identified, readers can find an outlined description of how to instruct athletes on each step of the process. RISK MANAGEMENT PLAN
A Month-to-Month Strategic Plan In the following exercise I was asked to create a month-to-month risk management plan for a small fictional college. It was important to look at the athletic department as a whole, but also address specific concerns for each of the eight sports. Features like pre-season meetings, responsibility checklists, safety issues/change updates, important handbook materials, facility inspections, and advisory committees were all outlined in the plan.
